What we take care of

Keeping a house in good order takes work. We do most of it, so that sharing stays easy to live with.

Cleaning the shared areas

A registered cleaner keeps the common rooms and shower rooms in order. It is a service we provide rather than an entitlement: when she is ill or on leave we would rather skip a week than let a stranger into the house.

Breakdowns and repairs

A dripping tap, a dead washing machine, a damp wall: tell us and we call the tradesperson, keeping the disruption as short as we can. The follow-up is ours, not yours.

Fire safety

RF 30 fire doors, detectors, a fire blanket and extinguishers; in some houses a smoke vent as well. The plans went to the fire service and we followed their recommendations.

Waiver-of-recourse insurance

If you cause serious damage to the house, our insurer compensates those affected and does not turn on you. Nobody should pay for one careless moment for the rest of their life.

Internet and television

Unlimited high-speed access, over Wi-Fi throughout the house and by cable in every room. A digital decoder in the living room, a coaxial socket in the bedrooms.

Spare keys

Locked out? We come and open up. If we cannot get there, a coded box hidden near the house holds a spare set.

And if things go wrong?

We cannot promise you the mood of a house or the behaviour of any one person. We do what is ours to do: choose tenants carefully, provide the services that head off friction, and listen when something is not working. Tell us early rather than late.
